How are uterine fibroids diagnosed?

Verified by Dr. Staci Tanouye, MD FACOG, OB/GYN
Our Answer
What our doctors say

If your doctor notices any ireggularities in the shape of your uterus duing your regular check up they will suggest you get an ultrasound, lab test, or both. An ultrasound will give them a clear image of your uterus to visually check for fibroids, and a lab test will be used to determine if you have another underlying condition that may be causing your discomfort.
