Hormone therapies can affect different people's mental health in different ways. On one hand, it can level out irritability and hot flashes of menopause and help some people cope with the changes in their body and mood. They can also help to regulate periods that are very irregular or heavy! On the other hand, some people may have mood swings especially at the start of hormone therapy. A lot of people find that their mental health gets SO MUCH better since they're taking a step to transition to the body they have felt was always right for them. If you are having concerns, let your provider know so they can assist and get you the help you need for any concerns you have.
