Other than birth control, what medications can reduce cramps?

Verified by Dr. Heather Irobunda (she/her), MD, OB/GYN
Our Answer
What our doctors say

Other medications that are helpful in reducing abdominal pain from cramps include your standard over-the-counter pain relievers (i.e. Advil, Motrin, or Aleve) and prescription nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Always check in with your doctor before starting new medications to make sure it's right for YOU!
