The August Advocates Program

We believe that free and accessible period care should be available in ALL shared community spaces. To fight period poverty, August is collaborating with public spaces all across the US and Canada to provide FREE PERIOD CARE!

NOMINATE YOUR SCHOOL AND/OR A COMMUNITY SPACE NEAR YOU TO STOCK PERIOD CARE CLICK HERE TO ACCESS OUR INTEREST FORM!

Join the movement and nominate your school, church, and/or any other spaces in your community to stock August products in their bathrooms! Feel free to share the form with your friends/family! Checkout our school + community toolkits too, to learn more about how this works and how you could contact key decision makers at your school to start the conversation!

Once you’ve submitted your nomination and you’ve emailed the decision makers at your school/space, your work is done and the torch is handed to us! Just sit back, relax, and wait for August period products to be stocked in your school/space!

Thank you for taking the time to get involved with our August Advocates initiative! Check out our most commonly asked questions down below, this video rundown on our TikTok and email chesley@itsaugust.co if you have any more!

How does this program work?

  1. Nominate your school using THIS form
  2. Some schools/spaces are already required to stock products, if so, it’s just a matter of switching them over to August as a more sustainable and affordable option
  3. If your school/space isn’t yet required to stock period care, we think that they should be! So we’ll take an approach of trying to make that happen from a policy level and support any potential pilot program to help your school/space get started.

I live in _, does your program extend that far?

At the moment, we’re only working with schools + community spaces in the US and Canada, but if you live in another country, we will keep your nomination on file and will get to it once we expand internationally!

In which US states are schools legally required to stock period care to support their menstruating students?

California, Georgia, Illinois, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, New York, Maryland, Colorado, Delaware, and Washington!

What happens after emailing the decision makers at your school/community space with the template in the toolkit?

We will be emailing your school administrators as well! Your email is important because as a current student, your voice really matters. Your email will apply more pressure + tell your school that you believe in this cause and want it to happen!

Are there age restrictions?

Nope! Anyone can nominate!
