What is a tampon?

A tampon is a period product used to absorb blood and other substances that come out of your vagina during your period. It is small enough to get inserted inside of you (different than a pad which is larger and stays on the outside) so if you are comfortable and want a more moveable product, try a tampon.
A tampon is a plug of absorbent material inserted into a body cavity or wound to stop or absorb secretions. In the case of menstruation, a tampon is inserted into the vagina to absorb menstrual blood. They are cylindrical and typically come with a connected string (for easy removal) and sometimes an applicator. The tampon itself is usually made of cotton or rayon. An applicator allows you to insert the tampon into the vagina with greater ease.
