Why is my period experience different from every other menstruator I talk to? Is that normal?
Our Answer
What our doctors say
Honestly, it great that you're even having those conversations comparing periods because that is exactly what August is trying to do - to educate and get those open conversations happening. If you are experiencing pain or irregularities very often, or having pain that lasts for more than 2-3 days, go see a doctor just to check in. Everyone's body is slightly different so it is common to have slightly different symptoms, but remember, severe pain is NOT normal.
