Why does my period come late when it’s cold?

A study done shows that in summer months your period cycle is shorter than in winter months. It seems as though warmer weather increases the rate of production for menstrual cycles.
One paper published in 2011 discovered increased hormone secretion, increased frequency of ovulation, and shorter cycles by 0.9 days in the summer compared with winter. This was also demonstrated in menstruators who lived in warmer climates compared with those that lived in colder temperatures.
